The Reiki Principles
Dr Usui built on the Meiji Emperors guidelines to form the 5 Reiki principles.
Each of these principles begins with the phrase “just for today …..” emphasizing that we need to live life one day at a time with complete attention. Trying to commit to something for the rest of your life is difficult, so start today, and when tomorrow comes, repeat the process for it is today!
Reiki walks in effect on 2 legs – the physical /hands-on aspect of self healing and also the 5 principles which become a way of living life.
The 5 principles are;
1) Just for today, do not anger.
2) Just for today, do not worry.
3) Just for today, count your blessings.
4) Just for today, live honestly.
5) Just for today, be kind to every living thing
Reiki is a way of life, and these principles and hands on practices bring you closer to your own truth. The results come from DOING, not merely from knowing. The principles are meant to be practiced as a life style. When this is done, one finds that change happens from the inside out! This is true transformation, one that is permanent and irreversible.
