Success in Life

Success in Life

By Sally Forrest
BSc, MRPharmS, MBA
12th September 2018

Success means different things to different people.
The question is “What does life success mean to you?”

Imagine that life is like pieces of a Jigsaw, each piece joins together to create an image.
What image are you creating for your Life?
In this moment I want you to simply STOP and reflect on your life.
Are you happy and content with the image you are creating, or do you want to alter the image in some way?
Your past does not have to determine your future and at any moment you have the ability to make changes to life.

I work with many clients to first identify what are their natural strengths.
What skills and talents did you arrive with?
Believe it or not this is actually written into your date of birth and by using elemental analysis I can explain exactly the make-up of your skill set.

For example:

Fire element is all about inspiring other, showing your passion and leading the way.
Metal element is law abiding, disciplined and great at setting up systems and processes.
Wood element loves to learn and grow, to teach others.
Water element likes speed of implementation, expansion and is able to change form.
Earth element is trustworthy, stable and reassuring.

What elements you are born with and how they interact is the first step to understanding what pieces you have in your jigsaw. My philosophy is that you follow your strengths, you grow these to excellence as these are the pieces of the jigsaw that you arrived with.
Along your journey you collect new pieces each year and these are also explained through a series of cycles.

Not everyone has all 5 elements and this will also give an indication of what roles are not suited to you as well as weaker areas to develop.

Together we formulate a Life Success Method that is tailored to you, and may include Health, Wealth, Relationships, Purpose, Work, Growth and Legacy…
The pieces are up to you as Success is your own creation and will mean different things to different people.

Secrets to Happiness

SECRETS TO HAPPINESS

By Sally Forrest
BSc, MRPharmS, MBA
Managing Director,
www.soulcentre.org
25th July 2018

I ask people a simple question “What do you want from life?”
Have you ever stopped and reflected on this question for your own life?
If not, today may be a good time to do so.

The most common answer I get is “Happiness” followed by “Inner Peace”.

Why does happiness elude so many? Why do we feel unhappy and not at peace with life?
Allow me to share some of my top secrets that bring happiness to life on a daily basis.

1) You are your own enemy.
You are tough on yourself, you constantly compare yourself to others and you chase after externals to make you happy.
No one is perfect, no one lives a perfect life, we are all perfectly imperfect.
The sooner you accept your imperfect life, the happier you will be.

I have clients who constantly change jobs, year after year they report back that the job is causing them stress, unhappiness and so they quit.
Clients who are on their 3rd marriage because the spouse caused unhappiness to them…. I am sure you have met people like this in life.
Wisdom from the ancient masters explains “Wherever you go, there you are”. This means that it’s not the externals that cause unhappiness to you, it’s YOU and your inner chatter that causes unhappiness. Put yourself in any situation and you are finding unhappiness, it’s that simple!

The sooner we can accept the fact that happiness lies in OUR hands and not in the hands of others, then the sooner we can become happy and content inside.

2) Negative Voice

Inside our heads we have 2 voices.
The positive voice that tells you everything that can go well, that you can do, achieve and have. That you deserve the best in life and that life is great.
The negative voice that tells you not to try new things. That you will fail, that you are not good enough, who are you to even try? That life is hard, unfair and that you are getting the worst deal from life.

The question is “Which voice is strongest in your mind and which are you listening to?”

Reflect on your day so far, which voice have you been listening to?

3) Focus on your Blessings

The solution to feeling down and depressed is to STOP and focus on your blessings.
We all have bad days, even the rich and famous with all the wealth in the world have bad days.
So how do we get out of them? FOCUS on the good in your life! It’s that simple….

·      I have fresh air to breathe
·      I have a healthy mind and body
·      I have a place to stay
·      I have friends who care about me
·      I have clothes to wear
·      I have freedom and security
·      I have a dollar in my pocket
·      I have food to eat

The list can go on and on and the best solution is to write down 10 NEW blessings each morning - and soon happiness will be with you every day.

We are all born originals, beautiful and unique with so much to bring to the world.
Feeling unhappy, frustrated and disappointed is wasted energy!
Stop focusing on everyone else and start to focus on yourself.
Happiness comes from within, you are responsible for your own happiness, so let’s start creating that together!

The Reiki Secrets

The Reiki Secrets
By Sally Forrest
BSc, MRPharmS, MBA
Managing Director, www.soulcentre.org
28th June 2018

Reiki is a way of life.
Once you learn Reiki then you find that life changes on so many levels.
As a medical pharmacist I love to teach the deeper aspects of Reiki and how they link back to the physical, emotional and mental aspects of health and healing.

Physical

Reiki is able to bring the body into a state of complete harmony. Many of us push our bodies beyond their limits. We eat too much processed food, we push ourselves to do more and more and often do not get enough sleep. We stay connected to our gadgets most of the day and increase our stress levels by allowing too much stimulus to enter our thoughts….
We rarely take time out and just relax. Using Reiki on yourself each day allows the body to reconnect to a state of balance and wholeness.
It is easy and simple to do Reiki, simply put your hands on your body and the healing energy will flow.
Make Reiki a habit. On waking simply connect your hands to your body and give yourself a Reiki healing for 5 minutes before you jump out of bed and start your day.

Emotional

All emotions arise as a result of a thought we have. We make a judgement as to whether it is good or bad based on our thinking. This leads to an emotion such as happiness if we judge something as “good”, or stress if we judge as “bad”. Reiki allows you to understand more about the emotions that arise and to take ownership for them.
All emotions are held in the body and give rise to symptoms which we can feel and see.
For example, a headache may mean we put too much pressure on ourselves.
A stomach ache means we worry too much.
Aching legs may mean we are not keen on “moving forward’ on something that life is offering.
Once you learn Reiki you understand the mind-body connections and start to see for yourself the connections between your thinking and your body responses.

By applying Reiki on a daily basis, emotions start to stabilize and as a result your health improves.

Mental

Have you ever met someone and asked them how they are, only to hear a story about what happened 10 years ago? This is a mental holding-on to issues of the past.
Usually it’s a negative occurrence and for whatever reason it is being kept “alive” in the mind of the owner.
This is similar to holding on to a hot piece of coal and complaining that it is burning the hand, yet not letting go.
It seems crazy, yet many of us do this.
We re-play our issues over and over and thus we keep them alive.
Reiki allows a mental relaxation and the ability to see things in a new light.
The more you use Reiki on yourself, the more you start to realize that happiness and contentment are firmly in your hands.
The mind starts to relax and let go of past traumas and life becomes joyful once again.

At SoulCentre we teach Reiki from absolute beginner all the way to Master level.
Thousands of people have benefitted from the Reiki training and all report immediate benefits to their health and happiness. It’s almost like having a complete reset of the mind and body!
It’s now your time and your turn!
The world is your oyster once you learn Reiki, so make a beautiful Pearl.

A select number of students go on to become Reiki teachers with us at SoulCentre and may become professional therapists.

Sally’s next Self-Healing Workshop is on 4/5 August.

Meditation For Health – Healing Touch

Sally Forrest
14th December 2016

Dis-ease means your body (and your mind) have moved away from Ease.

You are out of balance in some way or another.

It is simply a message to STOP and take a look at life and how you are living it.
First ask this question "What is the message I need to learn at this moment in life?"

Then simply find a peaceful space, close your eyes, focus on your breathing, meditate and allow the answer to come to you.

Every so often I find myself feeling tired through overworking and pushing my body out of balance. 7 days of working whilst it is exciting and high paced, it does leave a toll on the body.

When this happens I simply take off into nature and simply become one with whatever is around me. I sit and listen to the sounds of nature, I observe the sights of nature, I smell the smells of nature and I allow all of this to permeate into my body and touch my senses and to bring my body back into balance.
Meditation simply brings your attention to whatever you want to focus upon in life.

It allows you to be one pointed in your thoughts.

So if your health is being affected, then take the time to shift your focus onto your body and bring it back into balance.

Your body is giving you a message and it does not lie – so do listen to it :

A headache often means you are putting too much pressure on yourself.

A backache means you feel unsupported or are putting things behind you and not wanting to face them.

Losing your voice can mean you are not being authentic or speaking your truth.

Issues of the immune system may mean you are exhausted and feel as if life is all too much.

The meanings are there and can be seen once you develop more awareness.

The real question is – will you take responsibility for the messages and make the required changes in life?

Often we do not value or appreciate our health until we get a disease, so become aware and celebrate this amazing body that we all have.

Everything begins in the mind with a single thought, so chose to value your body and value your health and enjoy life fully.

We have one life – live it fully – with awareness and with balance.

Sally teaches Meditation and Reiki and is available for one on one consultations on any aspect of life, health, happiness and life balance.

She is highly sought after so please do book an early appointment in 2017 to get your year off to a great start!

What is Meditation – Meditation for Beginners

Sally Forrest
16 November 2016

The term meditation is often misunderstood.

Many assume that it is difficult to learn and that you have to sit cross legged on the floor for hours on end and achieve a state of “no thought”.

Many think it is linked to certain religions and is not for everyone.
Allow us to clarify exactly what meditation is and how it can support you in life.

Meditation simply is a way that allows you to see how your thoughts are affecting your reality.

"As you think, so you become" is the basis of meditation.

Once you start to see your thoughts and understand that they really do affect how you feel and act in life, then you have a choice to take.

“Do I want to keep thinking in a certain way – always reacting to the external world and its stimulus, and getting disturbed and upset about things I cannot control or do I want to choose my thoughts in a considered way and respond to life differently.”

Let me give you an example; you are driving to work in the morning and a car suddenly cuts into your lane with no indication.

The first reaction could be to horn the driver, get angry and allow this anger to translate into actions (you pull an angry face at the driver- raise a finger in the air – get angry and rant to those in your car, naming and blaming the driver in front as “an idiot/stupid “)

I think you know the scene and it’s a familiar one.

In the moment of anger, you lose all of your happiness and it was not even something that you did – it was as a result of an external event.

With meditation, you first see what is happening and then see how your thoughts are reacting to the external situation. You then simply allow yourself to make a decision – do these thoughts support me and my peaceful/calm mind or not?

The event has happened already and you cannot change or control the external event. However, what you can control is how your respond to it.

Meditation provides you with tools and techniques that allow you to choose how you want to respond to life instead of reacting to it.

It is easy to learn and at SoulCentre® techniques are shared that you can apply in every situation that life offers.

At SoulCentre® we teach through life stories and practical techniques that will suit every occasion.

We teach from beginner all the way to teacher level. Many of our teachers now travel all over the world teaching and sharing the wisdom with others.

Anyone and everyone can learn, children from the age of 6 all the way to seniors of 86 have passed through our Meditation Made Simple® programs.

So what are you waiting for?
Sign up today for a class and see how life changes.
It will be the best decision you have ever made.

Reiki Singapore – Healing For All

Sally Forrest
2 November 2016

I first discovered Reiki over 15 years ago whilst living in Thailand.

As a medical pharmacist I found it fascinating to see how healing can take place naturally and how once the body and mind are peaceful and positive then healing follows.

I am a firm believer that the body has an innate intelligence and intuitively “knows” how to heal itself, we simply have to get into the flow of being in harmony and balance and allow the miracles to happen.

Reiki is easy to learn and super easy to use, all you need to do is to put your hands on yourself and the healing flows.
Having taught thousands of students, from all ages and all walks of life, it is fascinating to see that Reiki affects people primarily on one of 3 levels :
  • The Physical Level  (healings occur in the body)
  • The Emotional Level (negative emotions are replaced with a more pragmatic and positive approach to life)
  • The Mental Level (how you think about life starts to change, and the small issues no longer become issues)
Students arrive for our Reiki programs not knowing what to expect, there is natural apprehension and maybe even a “fear of the unknown”.

However they soon discover and experience the Reiki “magical effects” and I always say its like receiving an “eye bath”, suddenly the world looks different and you move in the flow of life in a smooth and easy way.

Synchronicity starts to kick in and amazing events unfold just at the right time and the results are super positive.

At SoulCentre we teach Reiki to many professionals, Spa Therapists, Reiki Practitioners and medical doctors.

We provide professional and complete training for students to become Reiki practitioners and teachers.

We teach to high standards because we want everyone who receives Reiki to do so in a professional and supportive manner.

Reiki really is for everyone and the benefits are instant.

It is the best gift that you can give to yourself and it is with you for life.

Register for one of our Reiki programs and see how life changes…… it will be the start of a new and exciting chapter in life.

Meditation Courses - What Are The Benefits Of Learning Meditation In A Group Class

Sally Forrest
12th October 2016

We have been teaching Meditation & mindfulness at SoulCentre for the past 12 years.

Many different people have passed through our doors and each one leaves a happier and calmer person as a result.

Finding a good teacher is the secret of meditation.

It is easy to do on line courses or listen to guided meditations and to think that this is what meditation is all about, however this is not the truth.

The true test of meditation is when the storms of life hit us and we are able to stay anchored and calm as we sail through them.
Many people are not able to do this and at the first sign of trouble a few things happen;
The “why me” response …life is not fair and why has this hit me
  • The “why me” response …life is not fair and why has this hit me.
  • The verbal reaction happens – Sh*t - F*** - Bas***d ……you pick the language – the chances are this is what you say the moment the storm hits. “Jesus” is another popular one and often it is uttered from people who are not particularly religious.
  • The blame starts – if so and so had not done x/y/z …then this would not have happened to me….
  • Often we become angry – we feel like we are victims – we moan, crib and blame everyone else but ourselves.

This is the benefit of a teacher, a real person who will simply listen and hold up a mirror for us to see the reality of our life. We begin to see why the things that happen to us do so.

Our thoughts, actions and choices brought the storm upon us, so now, how we chose to respond will determine the next chapter.

The joys of group meditation allow you to experience the lives of many other individuals and to listen and learn from them.

Experiences are shared and a storm that one person is going through may resonate with you and you can see a different way of dealing with it.

Alternatively the storm may not have hit you just yet, but who knows what the future holds and at least you are prepared.

One thing is for sure, we all encounter storms, and with the right tools and training we can adjust our sails and continue with life.

Group meditation classes have many benefits and these include;
  • Like-minded people on the journey to calmness.
  • A sharing of experiences.
  • A sharing of techniques and what worked and great ideas how to benefit even more.
  • A brotherhood and sisterhood develops.
  • Successes are celebrated and people start to notice your calmness and gentle aura.
  • Ideas are shared openly and ones that you can apply to your life should be welcomed and applied.
  • You start to realize that everyone has issues and stuff happening to them – and actually your life is not that different from others.
  • The dramas start to reduce as you realize they are no longer dramas, unless of course we choose to make them into dramas.
  • You have a dedicated teacher who supports you and guides you on this journey called life.

We teach meditation each month in 4 session courses ( morning and evening sessions).

If you have not learnt yet, what are you waiting for?

It's the best gift that you can give to yourself!

Reiki Healing – How to develop a healing touch

Reiki is a gentle, hands on healing practice that brings so many benefits to the body. It is easy to learn and remains with you for life.

Reiki allows the body to move into a state of balance and this means that the body is better equipped to heal itself.

Have you ever had one of those moments when you are completely absorbed or lost in nature? Maybe you are sitting on the beach and watching a sunset, or, you have just climbed to the top of a mountain and are admiring the view.

In that moment everything else is forgotten; your aches and pains, your stresses and worries of life…in fact you are so completely absorbed in the moment that you feel so alive and in bliss. This is what I call the "Reiki feeling", and once you learn Reiki you simply put your hands on your own body and the "Reiki feeling" results.

Anyone and everyone can learn Reiki and at SoulCentre we have taught children from the age of 6 all the way to adults of 86.

So how do you develop the Reiki healing touch?

You need to attend a basic level Reiki class and during the class you will learn all about the hand positions on the body and how emotions are stored in certain areas of the body.

By simply putting your hands in certain positions on your body, the Reiki flows into the body and can have significant benefits not only to physical healing, but also to emotional and mental issues.

For example if you suffer from migraines, once you start to learn Reiki you may realise that you are being too hard on yourself, or expecting too much from others and by using Reiki your body starts to adjust. In addition, emotionally you feel happier and more stable and and you start to let go of things you cannot control.

The result is a healthier you and the migraines improve.

At SoulCentre we have taught thousands of students, many with healing needs. Reiki works on everything! It is also a great first aid kit to have in your hands for any and every occasion.

Reiki really is easy to learn and in 2 days you become so enthusiastic you cannot wait to get started on your own body and also your friends and family.

As Sally says "Keep those hot hands working and there is never an excuse to have lazy hands."

The next Reiki Level 1 will be held at SoulCentre on Saturday 20/Sunday 21 August.
We teach all the way from beginner to Reiki Master level.

8 tips to find your purpose in life

8 Tips to find your Purpose in life

I know many of us often ask "How do I find my Life purpose?”

So I tracked down Sally Forrest, Managing Director of SoulCentre to find out some answers.

Sally always encourages those she meets to "Have the courage to follow your heart"
I took time out and met up with Sally to ask her “ How do we actually find our passion and purpose in life?”

Sally gave us some great tips:

1) Never get too busy that life just takes over and you have no time to stop and plan what you want from life.
2) Know yourself - the best way to do this is to meditate!
3) Stop doing things that deplete you .
4) Do not engage in toxic relationships or hang out with negative people.
5) Plan in “me” time.
6) Do new things - try something different and remain childlike and playful as you pass through life.
7) Really live each day! Participate fully and with awareness.
8) Simplify life - by living a simpler life, you are happier and have more time for you!

"You know once you find your passion as it is a deep driving desire that is burning within you. It leaves you on a natural high and you simply want to follow it" said Sally.

It sounds great, so I am going to go and look for mine now ..........

Interview with Sally Forrest - Co-founder of SoulCentre

Sally was interviewed this week by Nerissa from Brown and Chase, a leading global company of talent acquisition / advisory, for a pod cast to be broadcast in May.
We are delighted to share a snippet from the interview.

"We are delighted to be speaking today to renowned Reiki master and teacher / former senior corporate executive / medical pharmacist with an MBA / Philanthropist and co-founder of SoulCentre Academy, Asia’s premier Centre for Personal Development, Sally Forrest.

"Sally inspires people worldwide to take responsibility for their lives and to live a life of happiness and holistic health"

Sally let me ask you  “How did you start your Reiki journey”

I am a medical pharmacist by training with a business MBA and so have a science/management background.

I was born in the UK into a large family where money was limited and so from an early age I learnt the qualities of working hard, being independent and going into the world to earn a living.

I worked for a company called Boots and was successful at growing my career rapidly with them. The external rewards of life at that stage were a key focus for me – job promotions, house, and car, gathering more and more.

The universe then stepped in, and out of the blue, Boots decided to go international and I was asked to be part of the team opening Boots stores in Thailand. Thailand was an amazing experience and it was hear that I first experienced Reiki.

The first time you experience Reiki it's like a wonderful comforting warm sensation moving through your body, giving your a feeling of deep relaxation, joy and happiness.

After 3 amazing years in Thailand, the Boots Company asked me to return to the UK to be part of a project downsizing the company. This was a turning point for me. Each day I woke and felt as if my heart was dying.

I felt my energy and passion ebbing away, so one morning I decided to become authentic and to follow my heart and so I quit my role. I decided I wanted to return to Asia and so this is what I did.

A few things were driving me, including a deep desire to set up an orphanage and give back to Thailand. I relocated myself to Singapore and for the first few months I focused my efforts on setting up an orphanage with 2 wonderful people I had met in Thailand.

It was whilst I was working with the hill tribe people in Thailand that I had another amazing awareness, and that was that some people with no access to medicines can heal themselves.

This was the start of my journey to understand the mind, body, health and healing.

I approached Reiki with an open mind and an eager heart. Naturally the mind wants to know the "how’s and whys" of things, and with Reiki is much more about feeling and experiencing it first before you try to understand it.

Once I had this beautiful feeling, I just knew I had to learn it for myself, as I wanted it to be a part of my daily living. Reiki made me feel was as if my eyes had taken an "eye wash" and suddenly the world looked a brighter, more colorful place and amazing synchronicity started to happen.

I just knew deep down that I would go on to become a Reiki Teacher and spread this gift to others. I am eternally grateful to Dr Usui and his authentic teachings of Reiki.

At SoulCentre we teach in a very professional way, with excellent classroom facilities, comprehensive manuals and individual tuition.

Thousands of students have studies with us, and many are now teachers themselves. Students progress at a pace that suits them.

We are recognized as “Asia’s Premier Centre for Personal Development”
